Dr. Melissa Chen is a primary care optometrist at Boston Medical Center. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from St. Louis University before obtaining her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. After graduating from optometry school with clinical honors, she furthered her training by performing an Ocular Disease/Primary Eye Care Residency at the Jamaica Plain VA hospital in Boston, MA.
After completion of her residency, Dr. Chen then joined a private practice where she worked in primary eye care diagnosing and treating ocular disease in addition to fitting contact lenses. Dr. Chen joined Boston University Eye Associates in 2013, and she is now adjunct faculty at the New England College of Optometry as well as Instructor of Ophthalmology at Boston University School of Medicine.
