Dr. Christiansen is the President of Boston University Eye Associates and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Boston University School of Medicine. His clinical interests lie in the management of childhood and adult strabismus, pediatric cataract, ROP and retinoblastoma.
He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. Following his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY he went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. He was formerly employed as a professor of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis while serving as the director of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Service. He is the recipient of numerous awards for academic and scientific achievement and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
