Optometrist

Boston University Eye Associates (BUEA), affiliated with Boston Medical Center and Boston University, is seeking a full time, residency-trained Optometrist to provide care to a culturally-diverse patient population with a high level of ocular disease at Boston Medical Center. Optometrists are responsible for clinical precepting and mentoring of students from the New England College of Optometry, as well as performing direct care for patients.  BUEA will offer a competitive salary commensurate with academic training and practice experience.  Applicants must have a commitment to outstanding clinical care and education. Technicians

Boston University Eye Associates is looking for a self motivated, multitasking ophthalmic technician for our busy multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. The ideal technician must be able to perform appropriate clinical testing such as Visual Acuity Testing, Visual Field Testing, Refraction, Pupil Assessment, Tonometry, Gross External Examination and eye drop instillation.

Working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms and ocular medications is a plus. Compensation based on experiences and certifications.

Boston University Eye Associates is an ophthalmology group practice which consists of optometrists and ophthalmologists. We are a multi-specialty practice providing services from comprehensive eye exams, to complex eye disease treatment and surgery. We service the south shore and Boston area. Currently we have openings in the South shore offices which are located in Taunton, Brockton, and Middleboro.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Obtain ophthalmic history from patient including the presenting complaint, past ocular history, illnesses, medications, allergies and reactions to drugs, etc.

Prepare examination and treatment rooms

Perform testing and evaluation to prepare the patient for doctors exam including visual acuity, color vision testing, tonometry, lensometry, Amsler grid, pupil evaluation

Administer eye medications

Certified Orthoptist

Boston University Eye Associates (BUEA), affiliated with Boston Medical Center and Boston University, is seeking a full time, certified orthoptist  to provide care to a culturally-diverse patient population with a high level of ocular disease at Boston Medical Center. Under the general direction of the ophthalmologist, the orthoptist assists in the diagnosis and treatment of binocular eye movement disorders. Orthoptists are also responsible for participating in clinical research, as well as providing instruction to medical students, residents and fellows in ophthalmology.  We offer state-of-the-art equipment and a modern clinical care facility.
